Graham Coxon Solo Single Incoming

Former Blur fret-wrangler Graham Coxon has revealed details of the first single to be taken from his as yet untitled fifth solo album, and it's to be a very special limited edition affair.
‘Freakin’ Out’ is the first new track to be released off the follow up to 2002’s ‘Kiss Of Morning’ and the first chance for the public to hear Coxon’s work with onetime Blur producer Stephen Street who has replaced the guitarist on the production credits.
The single will only be released as a limited edition 7”, and only 2500 numbered copies will be pressed.
The as-yet-untitled new album, a ‘proper’ single and a full UK tour are both planned to be released May and other new songs expected to be on the album include ‘Spectacular’, ‘No Good Time’, ‘Hopeless Friend’ and ‘People of The Earth’.
Speaking exclusively to Xfm Online Coxon explained that his new album marks a definite move away from the stripped down lo-fi style of his previous releases.
"The album sounds really, really nice.” He said, “I’m very pleased with it. It sounds like a lot of the music I’ve liked during my lifetime. Pretty traditional sounds really only slightly more confidently executed, betterly [sic] miked up, and a bit more care taken in recording it."
"I haven’t got a name for it yet,” he replied when asked if the new album had a title, "There was one daft working title called ‘No More Mr Lo-Fi’ but that was a giggle title really, I’m trying to think of something more serious.”
‘Freakin’ Out’ is released on Transcopic/Parlophone Records on March 8.
