New Nirvana Material Released November

Following the success of the hugely delayed ‘With The Lights Out’ rarities compilation, Courtney Love has announced she’s found yet more Cobain material in her attic.

Courtney Love has confirmed that next month will see the release of yet another Nirvana rarities CD. The album, which will hit European stores on October 31, will be titled 'Sliver' and will be a single disc of 22-tracks featuring three as-yet unnamed unheard tracks alongside material from last year's ‘…Lights Out’ box set.

Reports from Love’s management suggest that the artwork has been put together by Courtney Love and her child with Cobain, Frances Bean.

Peter Asher, who manages Love, told Rolling Stone: "Courtney and I involve Frances in Nirvana / Kurt decisions whenever we can. She's very perceptive and has cool ideas."

'We're pulling Frances into the family business,' Love told Rolling Stone. Whether this business is officially defined as ‘drawing as much capital as possible from her late husband’s legacy’ is unconfirmed.

In other Nirvana news, the director of the band’s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ video (whom Kurt described as the director to have most accurately caught his feelings on camera) Anton Corbijn will feature in the latest DVD release from the Director’s Label.

The director’s work is collected in Volume 6 of the series (to have previously featured Chris Cunningham and Spike Jonze, among others) and alongside videos for Depeche Mode, U2, Joy Division and Metallica, the DVD also features commentary and interviews with Kurt Cobain.
