New Promos On The Xfm Video Jukebox

Morrissey returns evangellically with 'Irish Blood, English Heart', The Datsuns are also back after a long absence with the awesome 'Blacken My Thumb'. Plus My Red Cell lose it 'In A Cage (On Prozac)'.
Morrissey 'Irish Blood, English Heart' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Always one to express himself through whatever avenues were available to him and never, ever being content to just let the music do the talking, Morrissey is sufficiently iconic that no details can be lightly dismissed. For the 'Irish Blood, English Heart' video Mozzer holds forth in what appears to be a recording studio, youth club or Scandinavian lounge. There's a distinct absence of daffodils and hearing aids but, clad in a white suit jacket and boasting some casual dance moves, he finally looks like the accomplished older statesman he is, serenading his captive audience with his dream for freedom and tolerance. And that weird line about the English eventually spitting on the name of Oliver Cromwell, as if the guy's some kind of folk hero adored by millions.
The Datsuns 'Blacken My Thumb' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Dolf de Datsun and family return with another dose of the blistering garage punk they made their name with. Playing in a jet black, abstract environment trails bleed from the band's eyes, hands and hair like you've just guzzled about 50g of psilocybin. Which is very, very cool. Obviously.
My Red Cell 'In A Cage (On Prozac)' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Clearly wanting to save precious development money at this stage in their career, My Red Cell have opted to shoot their latest promo at about six frames per second, rather than the traditional 25. This makes for a somewhat jerky experience but one that's uncommonly well suited to viewing on a 56k modem. Certain band members also take advantage of the stop-motion style to instantly appear in giant kitten heads.
